The Unwanted is a beautifully loose-limbed celebration of those cross fertilizations, with an inquisitive ear cocked towards the future too.” - Irish Times

Clarvis, Noble & Jordan
Freight Train

In July 2020 Cathy Jordan, Liam Noble & Paul Clarvis joined forces remotely, to create a new big sound from small resources for an online concert commission to Paul, by West Midlands Jazz.

Freight Train carries tracks recorded apart for that lockdown stream, along with those from their first live meeting in the studio in January 2022.

“The whole album adds up to a very agreeable 50-odd minutes, but beware. A long-forgotten tune, suddenly heard again, can stick to you like glue. It happened to me with this title track, Freight Train, a hit in the mid-1950s, when I first heard it. Now I can’t shake it.”
